Industry leaders, experts, and visionaries gathered at the ChemOrbis Global Petrochemical Conference to explore trends, share knowledge, and shape the future. All players of the petrochemical industry participated in the conference, which also included Ömer Karadeniz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Plastics Industrialists Federation.

The ChemOrbis Global Petrochemical Conference 2024, which shapes the dynamics of the petrochemical industry, was held in Istanbul on October 22, sponsored by BAYEGAN and Tasnee. ChemOrbis, bringing together industry leaders, experts, and visionaries to explore trends, share knowledge, and shape the future, has been organizing global conferences in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa since 2010. This year's conference was attended by leading experts and companies representing all stakeholders in the industry, including distributors, manufacturers, end-users, and logistics partners.
The opening speeches of the conference, which also featured Ömer Karadeniz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Plastics Industrialists Federation, were delivered by BAYEGAN CEO Burcu Olcay Üstüner and Yasser Al-Daajani, Vice President of Commerce on behalf of Tasnee.

Endüstrinin liderleri geleceği şekillendirmek için ChemOrbis’te bir araya geldi

“The crisis has affected the whole world”
Stating that the past year was not an easy period and that the crisis affected not only Turkey but also the entire world globally, Burcu Olcay Üstüner said, “Although I think 2025 will be more difficult, I believe that Turkey will be a shining star in the petrochemical sector, and I hope we will see old growth rates again in our industry.” As BAYEGAN, Üstüner stated that they will continue to grow with their manufacturers and customers, and that they are aware of their responsibilities during this growth process and are taking strong steps in this direction.
Üstüner noted that with their increasing production power, expanding trade volume, and innovative product portfolio, they aim to make a difference not only in Turkey but globally, and that their medium- and long-term strategies involve developing production processes supported by innovation.
Speaking on behalf of Tasnee, Yasser Al-Daajani emphasized that one of the most important issues facing their sector is the supply-demand balance. Al-Daajani pointed out that everyone, as suppliers and customers, should work together to maintain this.
Alp Fehmi Özdenler, CEO of ChemOrbis, gave a speech titled "Guiding Polymers: Unveiling Market Dynamics," saying, “We are facing a supply surplus, so optimization in production will be important. Furthermore, we need to closely monitor geopolitical uncertainties. Plastic recycling will affect costs and the supply-demand balance in the coming period.”
After the sessions held at the conference were watched with interest, participants directed their questions to the speakers.
