After completing her university education, Asiye Korkmaz, who entered business life, draws attention with her own company in the business world where fierce competition and prejudices are intense. Korkmaz, who carries out the Turkey representation of the Wintech Plastic Machinery brand, states that they have gained a strong position in the Turkish market by importing plastic packaging machines and raw materials from China, saying, “Women produce, Turkey grows.”

Asiye Korkmaz, who stands out with her energy, vision, and entrepreneurial spirit in the plastics and packaging sector, successfully carries out the Turkey representation of the Wintech Plastic Machinery brand. In her business life, which she stepped into after her university education, Korkmaz founded her own company despite the prejudices she faced in the male-dominated industrial world, gaining a strong foothold in the Turkish market with plastic packaging machines and raw materials imported from China. Korkmaz, who makes a difference not only with sales but also with technical support and after-sales services, draws attention to the importance of women's entrepreneurship by saying, "Women produce, Turkey grows."

Korkmaz stated that they specialize in stretch film, bubble wrap, automatic winding-slitting, and granule production lines, and that the machines in their showroom in Bursa are operated 24 hours a day without interruption; thus offering potential customers the opportunity to experience them on-site.

“Our main field of activity is the supply of machinery and equipment used in the production of packaging products such as stretch film and bubble wrap. In addition, we offer integrated solutions with automatic winding, slitting, and granule lines," said Korkmaz, adding that they continuously expand their product range and add value to the sector.

"THE PERCEPTION OF 'CHINESE PRODUCTS' IS CHANGING”

Korkmaz emphasized that the prevailing perception in Turkey that "Chinese goods are of poor quality" no longer reflects the truth, stating that this perception stems from both technological developments and the improper management of supply processes. Korkmaz spoke as follows: “For many years, China has become a country capable of not only high-volume but also high-quality production. Quality largely depends on the buyer's financial strength, technical knowledge level, and inspection skills. At this point, we aim to transform this perception by providing reliable supply chain management and effective after-sales service.”

Korkmaz noted that within the scope of her work, they offer competitive solutions to customers with FOB Shenzhen prices, and that all warranty and technical support processes in Turkey are carried out directly under her coordination.

Drawing attention to the increasing interest of Chinese manufacturers in the Turkish market in the post-pandemic period, Korkmaz said, “The transformation in the global supply chain has made Turkey a strategic region for China. Now, manufacturing companies tend to invest directly in Turkey and establish representative offices.”

"KNOWN AS THE 'STRETCH FILM QUEEN'"

Korkmaz, known for her active social media posts and visibility in the sector, is humorously referred to as the “Stretch Queen” by her peers.

Korkmaz, who noted that she accepted this title with a smile, said, “I consider it a symbol of sectoral belonging and visibility. People remembering me when they see content related to stretch film is an important gain for my brand.”

Korkmaz, who noted that she does not want to be limited to this definition, said, “We master a much wider range of the plastics and machinery sector. My goal is to be recognized as a competent figure in this field, both technically and managerially. I want to show how valuable a raw material plastic is when used correctly. I take an active role in many processes, from recycling to injection. One of my ultimate goals is to bear the title of ‘queen of plastic’.”

"BEING A WOMAN IN INDUSTRY IS DIFFICULT BUT PRIDEFUL”

Korkmaz stated that even though 2025 might be economically volatile, she maintains her commitment to her work, and she emphasizes the importance of women's entrepreneurship in the industrial sector with the following words:

“The industrial sector presents many challenges, especially for women. However, I am someone who starts every morning with hope and is passionately committed to her work. I believe that trade, which occasionally stagnates, will regain momentum with the right moves.”

Korkmaz, stating that she draws her motivation from her family, emphasizes that she also aims to inspire her 12-year-old son:

“My son is my biggest source of inspiration on this path. Being able to be an example for him, showing him that creating value is not only an individual but also a societal responsibility, is very precious to me. I wholeheartedly wish to walk this path with him in the future.”
