A Visit from PLASFED to Hasan Büyükdede, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology

The Board of Directors of PLASFED visited Hasan Büyükdede, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, in his office and exchanged their ideas on the development strategies for the plastics industry and current developments in the plastics recycling industry.

The meeting attended by PLASFED's Chairman Ömer Karadeniz, Vice Chairman Şener Gençer, Board Members Selçuk Gülsün, Tarık Özdemir and Teoman Arıkan, the Supervisory Board member Esat Hisarcıklılar and the industrialists from Ankara addressed the future petrochemical investment put into action in Yumurtalik of Adana.

Stating that he was originally from the plastics industry, Mr. Hasan Büyükdede said, "We attach great importance to the petrochemical investment started to meet a great need in our country, because the plastics industry is a very strategic area that provides input to almost all lines of industry."

Mr. Ömer Karadeniz who made an assessment of the issue said, "One of the most critical drawbacks of the plastics industry in our country is its high level of dependence on foreign raw materials. In this regard, we wholeheartedly support such a large investment. The other solution to the same problem lies in the plastics recycling industry. The fast-developing plastics recycling industry of our country does not only reduce the amount we spent on raw material imports, but also enhances the competitiveness of our plastics industry".
