Industry strengthening with common mind…
Türkiye growing with production
We are passing through a period where the global economy is being reshaped, supply chains are changing, and new rules axis around sustainability are guiding the business world. In such a process, countries that protect their production power, invest in technology, and can adapt to change are positioning themselves more strongly on the economic map of the future. Türkiye also continues to be one of the important actors of this transformation with its industrial infrastructure, entrepreneurship culture, and production capability.
During this transformation process, we see that industry does not consist solely of economic sizes. Industry is the cornerstone of employment, exports, technological development, and sustainable development. Especially the plastics sector continues to undertake a critical role in our country's production ecosystem thanks to the contribution it provides to dozens of different production areas.
As the Plastics Industrialists Federation continuing its work with this understanding, we sustain our contacts and collaborations that will contribute to the future of our sector. Within this scope, we visited the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) and came together with BTSO Chairman of the Board İbrahim Burkay and Assembly President Mr. Ali Uğur. In the meetings we held, we found the opportunity to evaluate the current outlook of our industry, the opportunities and challenges the plastics sector faces, sustainable production policies, and global competition conditions.
Bursa, with its strong production culture and export capacity, is one of the most important centers of Türkiye's industry. For this reason, the visit we paid was not merely a courtesy meeting; it was also an important indicator of the common mind and cooperation understanding oriented towards the future of our sector. The opinions put forward in the "Transformation in Industry: Supply Processes, Sustainability, and Strategic Roadmap" meeting organized within the scope of the visit have demonstrated once again how important the titles that will shape the future of production are.
This month in PLASFED Magazine…
In this issue, we have prepared comprehensive dossiers that shed light on different areas of industry. While evaluating the first six-month performance of the Turkish economy in our cover story, we discussed the critical role that industry carries in terms of the sustainability of growth. We demonstrated once again that production, investment, and export continue to be the fundamental dynamics of economic development.
We carried the effects of the transformation in the global petrochemical sector on industry to our pages with the evaluations of SOCAR Türkiye Sustainability and HSE Corporate Director Mehmet Özenbaş. We examined comprehensively what the changes experienced in supply chains and new competition conditions mean for our sector.
In our law corner, we evaluated the legal risks and responsibilities that employers face with Atty. Naile Ülkü Levendoğlu, an expert in the field of labor law.
In our sustainability dossier, we discussed carbon regulations, green transformation, and the effects of new generation environmental obligations on the plastics industry with Food Higher Engineer Serap Öztürk.
In our country dossier, we took Philippines, one of the rising economies of Southeast Asia, under the microscope. We evaluated the opportunities that the Philippines offers for the Turkish plastics sector with its increasing population, growing consumer market, and import-dependent structure.
We dedicated one of the most special sections of this issue to the rising role of women in the plastics industry. From production to management, from export to sustainability, we discussed the value that women, who successfully take up roles in many fields, add to the sector and their effects on the transformation of our industry. Women becoming more visible in production and decision-making mechanisms is an extremely valuable development for the future of our sector.
Furthermore, in this issue, we bring you Özlider Plastik as a success story growing with production, and the journey of TK Fish, which aims to make Turkish salmon a strong brand in world markets.
In short, in this issue, we tried to present a wide perspective stretching from production to sustainability, from law to export, and from female leadership to new markets. Because we believe that Türkiye's future will be shaped by an industrial understanding that produces, invests, transforms, and acts with a common mind.
I wish you a pleasant reading.
