PLASFED Management visited the Chemical Technology Center

PLASFED Management visited the Chemistry Technology Center at the invitation of İKMİB President Adil Pelister. The delegation, which examined the technical infrastructure, test and analysis capacity, and R&D opportunities of the center on-site, pointed out that such structural investments offer strategic contributions to the plastics industry in line with high value-added production targets. The Presidents and Board Members of the Plastics Industrialists Federation (PLASFED) Board of Directors visited the Chemistry Technology Center at the special invitation of Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters' Association (İKMİB).
Within the scope of the visit held on May 27, 2025, the PLASFED delegation received detailed information from officials about the center's technical infrastructure, laboratories, and R&D facilities. Karadeniz: “CTC plays a strategic role”
Following the visit, PLASFED Board Chairman Ömer Karadeniz stated that the high value-added production approach in industry should be supported not only by production volume but also by technological infrastructure and qualified services. Karadeniz stated, “Well-equipped structures like the Chemistry Technology Center play a strategic role in increasing our industry's international competitiveness. The technical services and laboratory facilities offered here will directly contribute to the plastics industry's goals for higher quality, sustainable, and standard-compliant production. Such investments also increase inter-sectoral knowledge sharing and synergy, creating an important foundation for the development of collaborations.”

Pelister: “We have established the infrastructure for the future of our industry”
Adil Pelister, President of İKMİB, who attended the PLASFED Board of Directors meeting, introduced the Chemistry Technology Center to PLASFED Members. Pelister emphasized that the center will be important not only for testing and certification but also for digitalization, collaboration, and innovation, stating that the Chemistry Technology Center currently conducts 209 different tests and analyses, and accreditation applications for 54 tests have commenced.
Pelister stated that the center's establishment aim is not only to conduct tests but also to create a structure where exporters can obtain the international certificates they need, saying, “We will carry out certification processes here by making agreements with laboratories abroad. The real added value will emerge here. In this way, we will be able to lower our industry's costs.”
Pelister explained that the center was designed to be multi-purpose, stating that they have established special areas for start-up companies, incubation centers, and a digital library infrastructure. Pelister further explained that companies can use the rooms here for joint projects and that access to information will be facilitated with the digital library, expressing that they are preparing our chemical industry for digitalization.

Pelister stated that as İKMİB, they are open to cooperation with sector representatives, saying, “We are putting forward what we want to do. We also expect guidance from you. We will develop this structure together, taking your suggestions into account.”
At the end of the meeting, Adil Pelister thanked the invitees, emphasizing that the center is a strategic step for the chemical industry, and invited all companies to benefit from the opportunities offered by the center.
