PLASFED Delegation Discussed Industry Agenda at TOBB

The PLASFED delegation visited the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) as part of its Ankara program, discussing topics concerning the current problems of industry, the preservation of production power, and the strengthening of the competitive environment with TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu .

The last stop of the first day of the PLASFED Ankara program was the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey. During the visit hosted by TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, current issues and solution proposals for the industrial sector were discussed.

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu used the following statements in his evaluation regarding the visit:

“It is possible for Turkey to protect and develop its production power by correctly evaluating realistic demands coming from the field. The sector represented by PLASFED is one of the most strategic areas of our industry. Policies to be created with the common sense of federations and chambers will both increase our competitiveness and make the investment environment healthier.”

PLASFED Chairman of the Board Ömer Karadeniz, in his speech, included the following views:

“The plastics industry produces the basic input for almost every sector, from defense to automotive, food to health, and in this respect, it forms the backbone of the country's industry. Therefore, every structural problem faced by the plastics industry affects not only our sector but also, in a chain reaction, the entire production and trade ecosystem.

We had the opportunity to comprehensively address many topics within TOBB, ranging from access to finance to energy costs, from sustainability to green transformation, from exports to global competition conditions. We believe that expressing realistic demands from the field and the expectations of industrialists on appropriate platforms is crucial in forming sound policies.

Our TOBB President, Mr. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, is a very valuable figure who enables the business world to act with common sense, strengthens inter-sectoral dialogue, and firmly takes ownership of industrialists' problems at the highest level. TOBB's strong representation capability and national and international prestige today are largely a result of Mr. Hisarcıklıoğlu's visionary approach. As the plastics industry, we are pleased to be a part of this inclusive structure.

As PLASFED, conscious of our responsibility to be the voice of industrialists; we will continue to take an active role in every platform that is solution-oriented, constructive, and prioritizes common sense, and to resolutely contribute to efforts that will increase our country's production power and competitive capacity.”
