Adil Pelister: “Panama is an important market in exports”
Adil Pelister, Chairman of the İKMİB Board of Directors, stating that Panama is an important market for the export of the cosmetics and cleaning products sector to the Central and South America region, said, “While we organized the third of our delegations for the cosmetics and cleaning products sector this year, we held the fourth of the Cosmeet series in the last year. After African and Asian countries, we organized the fourth Cosmeet Sectoral Trade Delegation to Panama this year, again in Panama, between September 1-7, 2024.”
Explaining that Panama ranks first in the sector's exports to the Central and South America region, Pelister stated that the export of essential oils, cosmetics, and soap product groups to Panama reached 2.7 million dollars in the first seven months of this year. Pelister noted that the export of washing preparations to Panama during the same period was 726 thousand dollars, and added, “Our total chemical exports to Panama in the first seven months reached approximately 12 million dollars. Looking at the figures, we see that our cosmetics and cleaning products sector accounts for a quarter of the total chemical exports to this country. Furthermore, bilateral meetings with buyer companies from neighboring countries will contribute to increasing the share of our Turkish companies in the region. As İKMİB, we will continue to support our sector as always.”
