Family Businesses and Institutionalization Council Working Group Meeting

The Family Businesses and Institutionalization Council Working Group Meeting was held at the Head Office of Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI) at Odakule on Wednesday, February 26, 2020. Mr. Ahmet Eren, Chairman of Eren Holding, attended the said meeting as a guest.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Mr. Omer Karadeniz, Chairman of PLASFED and Chairman of the ICI Family Businesses and Institutionalization Council Working Group, mentioned that institutionalization is essential for passing down the businesses to the next generations and stated that they entertain the Chairmen of Turkey's leading companies at each meeting they hold as the council working group, and make use of their experience. “Today, we are pleased to entertain Ahmet Eren, Chairman of Eren Holding that is one of the most important private enterprises of our country. I am sure that we have a lot to learn from the experiences they have acquired on institutionalization.” said Omer Karadeniz and let Ahmet Eren have the floor.

During his speech, Ahmet Eren remarked that family businesses are highly important considering globally and family businesses have started to have a foothold in the world market more rapidly than in the past, and explained the reasons that ruin or negatively affect family businesses saying, “Family businesses need to have a culture of reconciliation especially among family members. It is also important to have well trained individuals involved in the development of this culture of reconciliation”.
