Gür stated that they are focusing on efficiency-based projects in 2024, like all export-oriented companies, to maintain their competitiveness. He expressed that their business partners prefer Eurotec products, which offer continuity in quality and differentiation. He explained that they have signed significant projects both domestically and internationally and have developed a sustainability-based product portfolio in their product range, mentioning that their work on green factory projects and reducing energy consumption reflects their environmentally conscious production understanding.

Stating that they have taken additional steps and made investments towards their sustainability goals, Gür said, “We have strengthened our presence in the European market by opening a new branch in Germany, aiming to become the main supplier of raw materials in a changing world. Moreover, our investments in R&D activities and innovative product development processes have solidified our leading role in the industry. In short, with the steps we take during this period of slowing down in the global economy, we have laid a strong foundation for achieving future goals.”

Annual production capacity of 40,000 tons
Gür explained that they have a substantial production volume with an annual production capacity of 40,000 tons in the engineering plastics sector, offering quality and sustainable solutions for both domestic and international markets in their high-capacity production facilities. He mentioned that by employing over 200 people, they contribute to both the national economy and their customers. Gür emphasized that with their strong production capacities, they lead innovations and growth in the sector. According to the sales distribution figures for 2023, Gür noted that the sales amounts in Turkey and the European market are very close to each other and constitute their main markets. “Countries in Asia and Africa are relatively less markets where we export,” he said. “Alongside our exports, our imports are mostly sourced from Europe.” He added that their company always continues on a path that supports growth and development with a strategy and that they continue to work to further improve their existing production capacity and operational processes. In the coming period, Gür revealed that they plan to focus more on processes and product development to better respond to customer needs, stating, “While evaluating new investments, we aim to further strengthen our position in the industry by using our existing resources as efficiently as possible.”

“We reduce energy consumption at the source with the Green Factory project”
Stating that they attach great importance to using their resources in the most efficient way in line with their sustainability goals, Gür announced that they focus on reducing their energy consumption at the source within the scope of the Green Factory project. Gür spoke on the subject as follows:
“In 2023, we significantly reduced the amount of electricity we purchased through our investments aimed at increasing energy efficiency, as well as our investments in renewable energy. This way, we have reduced our corporate carbon footprint.
Additionally, the rainwater collection system we have implemented as part of our other ‘Green Factory’ project contributes to our goal of protecting water resources and represents a significant step for our sustainable production processes. Furthermore, in our ‘Green Factory’, we continue to produce green products by recycling industrial and consumer waste. We develop high-value-added products using biobased and organic/agricultural wastes like industrial textile waste, consumer bottle/case waste, coffee, rice husk, eggshell, walnut shell, and sunflower hull as raw materials. Our ‘Green Factory’ project is a comprehensive step towards our goal of conserving natural resources and is part of our vision to manage all our production processes with a sustainable approach.”

“We continue our R&D efforts”
Gür explained that they continue their R&D efforts taking into account the expectations of the industry, stating that they prioritize sustainability strategies in their new product development efforts. He mentioned that they actively use raw materials obtained from the recycling of both industrial and consumer post-consumer waste to achieve a lower carbon footprint in the life cycle analyses of their products.
Gür noted that products with a low carbon footprint obtained using consumer post-bottle and packaging waste are used in various sectors, including automotive and home appliances, in visible and functional applications. He said, “We design raw materials obtained from the recycling of waste fishing nets according to the requirements of automotive applications. We develop tailor-made sustainable products while also contributing to marine life conservation efforts. Our products using biobased organic/agricultural wastes such as rice husk, coffee waste, walnut shell, and hazelnut shell serve as a substitute for traditional plastic materials in various applications such as automotive interior cladding, white goods, and household appliances due to their superior material properties.”

Eurotec at the Plast Eurasia Fair
Reha Gür stated that Eurotec will once again have a presence at the Plast Eurasia Fair this year, alongside their distributors Safic Alcan at stand number 313 in Hall 3. Gür expressed that they want to closely follow the developments in the sector by participating in the Plast Eurasia fair, stating, “We aim to promote current innovations and technologies, establish new collaborations, and further strengthen our ties with our existing business partners. Additionally, we aim to introduce our sustainability-focused green product portfolio and high-performance products to visitors, thereby strengthening our leading position in the industry.” Gür added that the feedback they will receive from the fair and the industry trends will serve as an important guide for their future R&D efforts and product development strategies.
